ROYAL M!NT: How do you describe your personal style?
SOPHIE: Vibrant, fashion forward & glamorous.
REMINGTON: Delicate, soft & oversized.
ROYAL M!NT: Tell us a little about your ROYAL M!NT photoshoot. What did you think of the collection? What was your favorite look you wore that day, and why?
SOPHIE: I really enjoyed the collaboration between ROYAL M!NT and our blogs, Prada & Prejudice and Too Young For Fashion! Every piece in the collection is a staple in our wardrobes. Personally, my favorite outfit was the piece that my sister styled because it was simple yet chic. The jeweled collar and black cape were the perfect accessories for the outfit.
REMINGTON: It was a pleasure collaborating with ROYAL M!NT, and my best friend, blogger, and sister! It was so fun pulling pieces from the collection because all of the clothing was extremely versatile—a stylist's dream! My favorite outfit was the simple black dress that I styled with ROYAL M!NT'S spike cone chain necklace. I loved this look because you will constantly catch me in LBDs! Plus, I styled the necklace as a body chain, a trend that has been popping up everywhere.
ROYAL M!NT: What are 3 trends you can't wait to rock this fall?
SOPHIE: Summer is my favorite season, therefore for fall I plan on transitioning all of my maxi skirts and dresses by adding warm sweaters and layers! Second, I can't wait to rock an outfit with a "pop of color." I will add brights in unexpected places, like my shoes & accessories. Last, I will continue to shine by rocking shimmery clothes. Sequins & sparkles are no exception!
REMINGTON: For the fall season, I love the minimalist vibe of the perfect knit t-shirt paired with simple trousers and statement heels. Second, I always cling to my staple pieces made up of delicate lace and sheer dresses. I think this is because I love the look of an "undressed" dress. Last, I really want to focus on the details this coming season. I can't wait to add statement jewels and vintage pieces to a classic fall layered look.
ROYAL M!NT: Where do you get your inspiration? Who is your style icon?
REMINGTON: I am obsessed with all things street style. These "off-duty" photos inspire me to dress up each and every day and remain unique and authentic to my personal style. Recently, I have fallen in love with Elena Perminova's style.
SOPHIE: While my sister loves looking at blogs and street style, I still love flipping through glossy magazines. Elle, Vogue, Bazaar and all their international counterparts serve as a large influence on my personal style. My style icon(s) are the Olsen twins.
ROYAL M!NT: What other blogs do you love?
SOPHIE: I love Tuula Vintage, The Blonde Salad, Jak & Jill, They All Hate Us, and many many more!

RM: Hi Alex, we love your blog "the black roses are poisoned". How did you come up with this blog? Why black and white? Why the name?
I always loved collecting fashion photographs and anything inspiring. I thought, why not share them with the rest of the world? The blog seemed like the best way to share my love of black and white photography. I'm always drawn to the more serious or dramatic, dark and edgy. I love the focus on fashion and glamour. I came up with the name 'black roses are poisoned" from my childhood; watching Disney movies like Snow White and Alice in Wonderland, I learned fairy tales seemed to always have a dark side.
RM: How do you describe your personal style?
My personal style is mostly all black. Conservative, but with a slight edge to it, I wear a lot of knits and leather. I love anything by Alexander Wang. My favorite shoes are my beat-up leather Converse or my Marc Jacobs Doc Martins. Occasionally I do enjoy an evening out in a well made suit for parties. I will bring in a splash of color on a tie or scarf for more formal occasions,
RM: What are the 3 mistakes women always make in fashion?
For me, the most grievous of crimes by women in fashion is wearing Ughs in public. I don't care how comfortable they are they have the word "ugh" in them for a reason!
Secondly, when women mix too many different styles and patterns together, it just says "stay away" Such as a leopard print top, belted with rhinestone embellishments,and mixing other prints like zebra with it!
Lastly, I truly believe the biggest mistake women make in fashion is trying to be too trendy and not dressing for their personal style or body type. Everyone is different, it is extremely important to find out what makes you look and feel beautiful, sexy and confident through fashion that compliments your own individuality. Mirroring the latest celebrity outfit will not necessarily make you a star.
RM: What is your advice on styling young women today?
I like to see young women take some risk and allow their stylist to get them into something new and different. As stylists, we see a body type and a personality and then we bring in the clothes to enhance that girl as an individual. We have a repertoire of designers and styles that we connect with for different reasons. The opportunity to select specific new fashion pieces for your client is like working with living art forms.Right now im really into graphic prints on clothing as well as mixing bright neon colors.I love a girl whose bold and not afraid to stand out.
RM: What are the 3 trends you like for fall?
I just saw the Lanvin Show and I love the bold use of Emerald green for fall, it was breathtaking.
Gothic inspired looks are still going strong for fall. I like the layered black clothing pieces in Rick Owens show?
Metallic, always a strong trend that never really seems to disappear, especially when used for accessories.
RM: Where does your inspiration come from? Who is your style icon?
A lot of my inspiration comes from the dark side of fame. I love black and white Photography because it draws me in to think. I love to be inspired by anything historical from Architecture to books and movies. My style icon is Daphne Guinness, she is fearless in fashion and in my eyes a true original. An emerging style icon is Emma Stone, she is developing her own great personal style coupled with her amazing talent.
